HOW LONG DOES A MOVE TAKE?

We complete most moves same-day. We start at 8:30am for most morning appointments and have appointments available in the afternoon as well. We have been known to use 2 large trucks when needed to get a move done in a timely manner. If you are concerned about how long a move may take, remember that you have the option for 2, 3, 4, even 5 men to complete your move. Yes, the hourly rate is higher, but the cost ends up being less if your move is completed in less time.

WHAT IF IT’S RAINING?

If it is raining, we still move you. In the Portland area, we have to be prepared for this type of thing. We use floor protection and commercial grade moving pads and all of your items are stretch wrapped to keep out rain and other elements during the move, and to protect your old home and your new one.

DO I HAVE TO EMPTY DRESSER DRAWERS?

No. Actually, it is better if you leave the clothes inside. This protects the integrity of your furniture and there is less likelihood for damage. Leaving the drawers in the dresser makes for a sturdier piece of furniture. Do not worry about how heavy it is. We have tools and equipment to help us move heavier items.

DO YOU HAVE INSURANCE?

Yes, we do provide insurance on your items. We have basic coverage, and you can purchase a higher coverage plan even as late as the day-of, when we are in your driveway. Moving is a high liability industry and we take care so that you never have to use the insurance policy, but just in case, your items are insured per pound of weight. That’s why we encourage you to take items that are ‘priceless’ with you in your own car.

On top of that, all of our workers are employees of the company and therefore covered by our workman’s compensation policy. What this means to you as the homeowner is that you will not be held personally liable for any injuries that occur to our workers on your property or during your move. Beware of fly-by-night companies with suspiciously low rates. Ask if their workers are employees and ask to see a copy of their workman’s comp policy.

DO YOU MOVE PIANOS?

Yes. We are more than happy to move your piano if it is a part of your larger household moves.  We have experience moving grands, baby grands, uprights and even kid’s pianos!

DO YOU MOVE POOL TABLES?

We do not typically move pool tables unless they are slate crated and already prepared for transport.

DO YOU MOVE HOT TUBS?

No. We do not move hot tubs under any circumstances.

WHAT ELSE DON’T YOU MOVE?

We do not move pets, flammables or liquids. You can see our other page on What Not to Pack for more detailed information. We do move lawnmowers but you must drain the gas first. If you would like us to move your grill, please disconnect the propane.

DO YOU MOVE HOUSE PLANTS?

No, we do not move house plants. Please transport these on your own prior to moving day or the day-of. We are not liable for any damage to house plants, and they can get damaged on the moving truck. Please see our page on What Not to Pack for more information.

DO YOU MOVE ELECTRONICS/ARTWORK?

Yes, but if your electronics are not in original packaging they are not covered by insurance e.g. flat screens. The same goes for artwork. If you have items packed by the moving company they are covered by our insurance policy since we have appropriate packaging. For artwork you can get picture packs, mirror packs and art work packed by the pros. See our page on What Not to Pack to determine if you are better off moving these sensitive items yourself.
